Twin Lane Make-up System

WMH has just despatched the first phase of an ongoing project for the manufacture of a number of make-up lines destined for the US. The system incorporates twin lane, independantly driven, make-up conveyor which feeds the ready-meal products into top-web sealing machines before merging two random flows of product into a single lane for further processing.

Pork Pie Jellying

WMH have recently completed the successful installation of a new in-line jelly system for injecting jelly into pork pies. Installation of the system enables the factory to reduce the number of manal interventions required for handling trays of pork pies post cooking. The system integrates with an oven unloading and manual de-traying system installed by WMH several years previously.

Pie Depanning

Traditionally the manufacture of pork pies has involved much use of manual labour to remove the pies from their baking trays. WMH have recently developed an inovative solution that will automatically unload the pies from the trays with the minimum of manual input.

The system handles five standard baking trays at a time, each holding up to 60 pies each. Each cycle takes 50 seconds to complete and all pies remain in an upright position for further automated processing.

High Risk Packing

Following the succesful installation last year of the first high speed end of line packing system, WMH are currently in the final stages of manufacture of a second high speed end of line packing system for Ginsters. The project is being run in conjunction with Schubert, who are providing a high speed flexible packing cell. WMH equipment brings product from a number of production lines to a central packing area. WMH's challenges along the way included maintiaining personnel access to the area and ensuring that production is disrupted as little as possible during the installation.

Inline Production is the Modern Way

For many years WMH have worked closely with Nottingham based pie manufacturer Pork Farms to help inprove manufacturing quality and efficiencies in an increasingly dated factory. Since the aquisuiton of Pork Farms by Vision Capital, WMH are pleased to be taking on the responsibility for a full factory re-organisation and the introduction of a number of spiral freezers in place of the old rack freezers. WMH are taking responsibility for inprovements at all stages of the production process from loading the products into the ovens through to the final end of line packing.
The WMH systems include a number of inovative pieces of equipment most notably being a unit for unloading trays of product and removing hoops from pies.
