Cycling for Charity

Category: News

Jun 15, 2018

On July 25th, WMH Design Engineer Jon Ceasar and his brother Nick will be embarking on a four-day cycle challenge to raise money for Mind – The Mental Health Charity.

Starting in London the duo will join other intrepid cyclists on the 300-mile, 4-day trip across the channel to Paris.  Cycling up to 95 miles per day the group will pass through Calais, Abbeville and Beauvais before reaching the French capital at the end of thier fourth day of riding.

Jon explains how he got involved with the event “At Christmas my brother asked me if I would accompany him on the event and without too much thought I agreed. What makes it more challenging is that I hadn’t ridden a road bike before.”

In preparation for the trip Jon has undertaken a rigorous training regime, riding 90-miles a week, including cycling to and from work, and with other members of the WMH team completed 122 miles of the Devon coast to coast cycle route in one day.

“With the training I have put in I am confident that I will be able to complete the event, but not without pain!!!” said Jon.

If you would like to support Jon and Nick in their efforts donations can be made via https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nicolas-ceasar
