Green Light for Expansion

Category: News

Jun 22, 2016

Western Mechanical Handling UK Ltd has recently been granted planning permission for a 3600 square foot extension to their premises in Callington.

The extension will provide more space for fabrication of parts and will enable a clean assembly and testing area to be re-established in a separate building. The extension will also provide a new staff rest room, locker room with shower. The extra space will also house a private meeting room and stores. During the works the original building will also have a make-over, with new exterior cladding to match the new build and all the services will be brought up to date to increase energy efficiency of the building.

This extension of the site at Callington is the latest in a line of expansions since, managing director; John Tomlinson first bought the site at Moss Side in 1978.

“We are very excited about the plans, which will help improve the experience for visitors as all the noisy and dirty fabrication will be carried out in the new building. The extra space will also allow the company to continue to gradually expand in the future.” Tom Tomlinson, Workshop Supervisor.
