Product Packs in Place

WMH has recently developed a product and pack positioning system for locating pairs of products evenly under a plasma head for extending the shelf life of fresh produce.

The system uses the same servo drive technology that was developed for WMH low pressure collation systems and incorporates a method of determining the size of the pack and locating it at a central position on a conveyor. This system enables a random flow packs to be equally spaced on the line for further processing. The novel feature of the system is that it can even collate products of random size and orientation.

While the line was developed for a specific purpose the technology can easily be transferred to a whole range of operations.
